The past 48 hours has provided quite the temperature drop in the Pikes Peak region and some much-needed moisture. A few folks have asked if they should do anything preventative to their sprinkler systems and two of our landscaping/sprinkler vendors believe the overnight lows aren’t going to be cold enough for long enough to cause damage.
However, if you want to be cautious, here is a You Tube video showing how to drain the backflow device https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LheMJaS4Ao.
You will just need to reverse the process when the weather warms up/dries out next week.
Also, the wet/heavy snow is starting to cause branches to weigh down. If this snow continues, it might be a good idea to knock the snow off of those branches with a broom or long pole.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, stay warm and dry this weekend.
