BE PREPARED: ARCTIC TEMPS HEADING OUR WAY

The weather is going to feel quite differently over the next 24-72 hours with an arctic blast forecast to arrive in the Pikes Peak Region. I would highly advise taking the following steps in advance of the frigid temps:
  • Ensure All Hoses are Disconnected from Exterior Faucets
  • Replace Furnace Filters if not done so within the past 30 days
  • Test your Smoke Alarms and Carbon Monoxide Detectors. Replace the Batteries if not done so within the past 6 months.
  • Set Your Thermostat to at least 60 degrees (even if you are going to be away) and DO NOT turn off the heat
  • Open The Cabinet Doors Under Sinks so the warm air can circulate around the pipes – especially sinks on exterior walls
  • Double Check the Location of the Main Water Shutoff Valve (noted on your inspection form)
  • Be Smart with the use of any Space Heaters or Electric Blankets
As always, please let me know if you have any questions regarding these or other items. Otherwise, stay safe and warm over these next few days.
Sincerely,
