Good Afternoon:

While it’s nice to see the sun again after a soggy week, the mild temperatures aren’t going to last for long. The low on Sunday is forecast to be in the mid teens.
So over the next 24 hours, please take some action to ensure we don’t have any broken pipes or damage to the irrigation systems around your home:
1. Please disconnect all hoses from exterior faucets
2. If your home has an irrigation system and you haven’t winterized it yet, please shut off the water to the system and drain the backflow device. Step-by-step instructions can be found online ( and I have attached a PDF with similar information.
3. Change the furnace filter. This not only improve the efficiency of the heating system but also results in cleaner air in your home.
4. If you are leaving for the weekend, please make sure the thermostat is set to at least 60 degrees and leave any cabinet doors open underneath sinks located on exterior walls.
I sent out a winter maintenance email a few weeks ago. If you did not receive it, please let me know and I can resend it. It’s also posted on the website.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, enjoy the Saturday’s weather and stay warm on Sunday.
